This policy explains how NodePad uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device; similar technologies such as local storage work in comparable ways. We group them by purpose below.
The cookies and storage we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
Required for the service to function; they cannot be switched off. They do not track you for analytics or advertising purposes.

Analytics (off by default in the EU/UK; opt-out elsewhere)
Help us understand how NodePad is used so we can improve it. We use PostHog. This includes anonymous-by-default usage events and, where enabled, session replay with all form inputs masked.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data.
Your choices
- EU/UK visitors: analytics do not load until you select Accept in our cookie banner. Choosing Decline means no analytics are loaded at all.
- Other regions: analytics load on an opt-out basis; you can decline at any time.
- Withdrawing or changing consent:
- On the website, use “Cookie preferences” in the footer (or in the sidebar menu on the home page).
- In the app, go to Settings → General → Privacy & analytics → Manage analytics preferences.
- Your choice is remembered on each NodePad site. An explicit Decline is always honored.
- Browser controls: you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break sign-in and payment.
How we detect your region
To decide whether consent is required, we read your browser’s time zone, a privacy-preserving signal; we do not perform IP geolocation for this purpose. If your region cannot be determined, we treat you as requiring consent.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date.
